Anchoring Green Innovation, Propelling Industrial Upgrading | CHEMSTA Takes Center Stage at the 35th China Oils & Fats Annual Conference with Benchmark Projects

From August 21 to 23, the 35th Academic Annual Conference and Product Exhibition of the Oils & Fats Branch, China Cereals and Oils Association, was held in Wuzhong, Ningxia. Themed “Innovation for Progress, Green and Safe Development, Quality and Efficiency Improvement,” the conference centered on technological innovation and evolving industry dynamics, convening stakeholders to chart a path toward the high-quality transformation of the oils and fats sector.

Gathering Wisdom, Empowering the Industry: Leading the Next Wave of Upgrading

Leaders from the China Cereals and Oils Association and its Oils & Fats Branch, together with leading industry experts, convened to conduct systematic assessments spanning industrial policy, technological frontiers, and market landscape. Their deliberations clarified development trends and transformation priorities, laying a solid technical foundation and setting a clear strategic direction to ensure a strong start to the industry’s 15th Five-Year Plan period.

The conference offered in-depth analysis of policy directions in green transformation, intelligent equipment upgrades, and quality-efficiency improvement. It brought together the latest scientific achievements and engineering applications across core areas—including process and equipment modernization, functional oil and fat R&D, specialty oilseed development, energy-efficient and safe production, and oil and fat testing standards—closely aligned with the industry’s trajectory toward high-end, intelligent, and sustainable development.

Green and Intelligent Technologies: Building Core Industrial Competitiveness

During the exhibition, industry leaders and experts visited the CHEMSTA booth, offering guidance and highly positive feedback. The CHEMSTA team engaged in in-depth exchanges with enterprise representatives and research experts from across the country, discussing key industry priorities such as grain and oil processing optimization, smart factory development, and energy conservation and carbon reduction in production—exchanging technical insights and forging consensus on the sector’s future.

With five decades of dedicated expertise in plant oil and protein deep-processing equipment, CHEMSTA has established a comprehensive system encompassing proprietary technology R&D and end-to-end project delivery. Its independently developed complete equipment sets for plant oil extraction and protein processing have reached internationally leading standards, with oil and fat equipment production capacity ranking among the top three nationwide. Its alcohol-process concentrated protein technology and equipment command the largest domestic market share in the industry. The company has successfully built the world’s largest single-line food-grade and feed-grade alcohol-process concentrated protein production facility, with core processes and equipment performance benchmarked against global best-in-class standards.

At this exhibition, CHEMSTA made a headline debut with its 1.05 million TPA soybean processing project, complemented by a 100,000 TPA alcohol-process concentrated protein facility. This project breaks the mold of traditional soybean processing—which yields only basic oil and meal—propelling the value chain from bulk commodity trading toward high value-added functional protein manufacturing, and achieving a significant leap in industrial value creation.

For this project, CHEMSTA designed and constructed the world’s largest zero-emission intelligent alcohol-process production line, entirely replacing the conventional high-temperature,processing model. It innovatively integrates core technologies including low-temperature alcohol extraction, bio-fermentation, intelligent process control, and by-product valorization. With full-process digitalized flexible manufacturing capabilities, the line consistently delivers standardized products while precisely responding to market demands, enabling customized development of functional protein offerings.

CHEMSTA’s collaboration with JJ-Lurgi on a super-large-scale 5,000 TPD oil extraction production line is advancing steadily. Addressing key industry challenges—system matching for high-capacity lines, solvent recovery, and long-cycle continuous operation—the two parties have combined their mature process expertise with hands-on engineering and operational experience to deeply optimize the entire process chain, from pretreatment and extraction to solvent recovery and cascaded waste heat recovery. These efforts are designed to maximize oil yield while minimizing solvent and energy consumption. Supported by intelligent process control and safety interlock systems, the project achieves a balanced integration of product quality, production efficiency, operational safety, and environmental stewardship—establishing a benchmark for large-tonnage grain and oil complete engineering projects.

The project will generate a comprehensive repository of process parameters, equipment specifications, and commissioning, operation, and maintenance know-how, forming a replicable, turnkey solution for large-scale oil processing. This will empower market development for new large-tonnage projects and technical retrofits, further strengthening CHEMSTA’s industry influence. Together with JJ-Lurgi, CHEMSTA offers customized standalone equipment, energy-saving retrofit solutions, and full turnkey plant engineering—deepening its footprint in the domestic retrofit market while actively expanding into overseas turnkey projects. Through advanced equipment, CHEMSTA helps grain and oil enterprises reduce costs and boost efficiency, jointly building a resource-efficient, environmentally responsible modern oils and fats processing industry.

Anchored in the Mission of Our Times: Continuously Injecting New Quality Productive Forces

China’s oils and fats industry is now at a critical juncture of accelerated transformation, upgrading, and the cultivation of new quality productive forces. The national food security strategy places ever-higher demands on the intelligence, sustainability, and domestic self-sufficiency of grain and oil processing equipment. Standing at the new starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan, CHEMSTA will continue to deepen its commitment to independent innovation, iteratively upgrading its green and intelligent complete equipment sets and integrated engineering solutions—propelling the oils and fats industry toward high-end development, low-carbon growth, and safe, quality-driven advancement, and continuing to contribute CHEMSTA’s strength to the high-quality development of China’s oils and fats sector.
